Belle Glade, Pahokee and South Bay are the three cities along the southeastern shore of Lake Okeechobee, about 35 miles west of West Palm Beach, according to Palm Beach County's Glades Region Master Plan. Much of the housing is old, and mobile homes are common. Belle Glade has about 6,340 homes, median built 1979, 51% before 1980 and 13% mobile homes. Pahokee has about 1,780, median built 1970, 56% before 1980 and 24% mobile homes. South Bay has about 940, median built 1974, 68% before 1980 and 13% mobile homes. If you own a mobile home, ask your insurer which inspection forms it accepts before booking. For site-built houses, most are past the 20-year age at which Citizens requires a 4-point inspection.
Palm Beach County's Building Division says all of unincorporated Palm Beach County is within the wind-borne debris region, and its product-approval guidance notes that all of Palm Beach County is classified a wind-borne debris region. That is the zone where the building code requires protected openings, one of the features a wind mitigation report records. Ask your city's building department to confirm for your address.

Only companies that name a Glades city on their own site, or say they work statewide, are listed. Several coastal companies say they cover all of Palm Beach County but list no Glades town, so they are left off; you can still ask them. Ask any inspector whether a travel fee applies out here.
Listed in no particular order. None are paid placements. Licenses were checked on the Florida DBPR license search (myfloridalicense.com). "Not found on DBPR" means our search on the date shown found no matching license; "No license # on site" means the business publishes no name or number we could search. Neither means the business is unlicensed (engineers and architects, for example, are licensed outside DBPR). Prices are copied from each inspector's own site on the date shown. Always confirm price and license before you book.
